25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Point #1 – There is a CONNECTION between
the person in NEED and JESUS.

eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you
invited me in,36 I needed clothes and you clothed
me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came
to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him,
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you
something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger
and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When
did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The
King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Point #2 – The essence of your RELATIONSHIP
with GOD says I must meet the needs of OTHERS.

Point #3 – If we do what GOD commands we are more than
his SERVANTS we are his FRIENDS.

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have
loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay
down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my

have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have
made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose
you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will
last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This
is my command: Love each other.
LIFE APPLICATION…
1. Your relationship with GOD gives you the
responsibility to bless others.
2. The most humbling thing about the kingdom of GOD
on earth…is that he wants to use us to build it.
3. When we ignore those in need, we also ignore
JESUS.
